KSU at Trumbull to host 2013 Spring Volunteer Fair

Students, faculty and staff of Kent State University at Trumbull will have the opportunity to connect with local nonprofit agencies to learn about volunteer and internship opportunities available to them throughout the community.

The campus will host 2013 Spring Volunteer Fair from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Lower Commons and Student Union areas of the Classroom/Administration Building.

Goals of the fair include:

Linking students to local organizations for volunteer and internship opportunities.

Serving the local community by offering organizations the opportunity to recruit volunteers at the campus.

To answer questions students, faculty or staff members have about the Experiential Learning Requirement and Alternative Spring Break opportunities at Kent State University.

To provide students and local organizations an opportunity to network with one another.

Representatives from a number of local nonprofit and/or nongovernmental agencies will be on hand, including Betty’s Angels Inc., Children’s Rehabilitation Center, Dress for Success in Warren and Youngstown, First Night Canfield, Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio, HandsOn Volunteer Network, Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley Inc., Main Street Warren, New Hope ROTH Outreach, Ohio State University Extension/4-H Youth Development, Organizing For Action, Pride Youngstown, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mahoning Valley & Western Pennsylvania, Senior Independence Hospice, SITF Inc., The Camelot Center, TNR of Warren, Trumbull County Dog Warden, Trumbull County Historical Society, Trumbull County Probate Court, Trumbull Mobile Meals Inc., Valley Counseling Services and Warren Family Mission.
