“Taming of the Shrew,SDRq Mahoning Valley Players, Oakland Center for the Arts, 220 W. Boardman St., Youngstown, auditions will be at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. All roles are open. Performances will be Aug. 2 and 3 in the Judge Morley Performing Arts Pavilion.

Summer Stock 2013 Season, Kent State Theatre lobby, Kent State Trumbull, 4314 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, auditions will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 25 and 10 a.m. to noon April 27. The theater is seeking young actors for three shows. “Grandmother Tales,” adapted by R. Rex Stephenson and directed by Patricia M. Fagan, needs children from 10 to 17 for various roles; performances will take place in the Student Union in June. ”Puss ‘N Boots,” written by Fagan and directed by Jenny Binter, needs children age 8 to 17; performances will be in July. The musical “Grease,” by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, needs actors age 14 and older; auditionees should prepare a song. “Grease” will be performed in July. For all auditions, actors should be prepared to read from a script. Participation fee for the summer is $50. 330-675-8887.
