Dentistry from the Heart event planned for Friday

Dentistry from the Heart and Braydich Dental Inc., 45 E. Liberty St., are teaming up to give Youngstown-Warren area residents who are 18 and older their choice of a free cleaning, filling, extraction or denture repair or adjustment from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

The event is first-come, first-served, so participants are urged to arrive early.

Drs. Mark and Rudy Braydich of Braydich Dental Inc. have been providing general dental care to the Youngstown area for 35 years.

This will be their second Dentistry from the Heart event, and they said they plan on doing this every year.

In 2011, 110 patients received free care during DFTH at Braydich Dental, and $22,000 worth of care was dispensed.

Dentistry from the Heart, an organization founded in 2001 by Dr. Vincent J. Monticciolo, is a national nonprofit dedicated to providing free dental care to those who are in need.

Every year, individual dentists and practices across the country donate time and resources to host their own DFTH events.

In 2010, Dentistry from the Heart had more than 200 events scheduled across North America bringing free dental care events to communities in 48 states and Canada. Millions of dollars of free care is dispensed every year.
