Junior wide receiver Anthony Ritchie caught a five-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Brian Pell with 18 seconds left. Ritchie’s five-yard touchdown reception capped a 12-play, 66-yard drive, which featured a pair of fourth-down conversions. Pell threw a seven-yard completion to Ritchie on fourth-and-5 early in the drive. Moments before the touchdown, Ritchie ran for three yards on fourth-and-inches on an end around. Pell finished the game 23 of 34 for 200 yards. Senior linebacker Jason Ferguson (Mineral Ridge) led Grove City with 12 total tackles. Geno Pasquinelli (Salem) had a team-high five catches for 49 yards a score and now ranks sixth all-time in Westminster history with 127 career receptions.
Waynesburg 20, Thiel 19
GREENVILLE, PA
Bernie Thompson’s 15-yard touchdown reception from Carter Hill with 6:58 remaining in regulation gave the Yellow Jackets the game-clinching score, roughly three minutes after the Tomcats took a 19-14 lead when Andrew Smith (Pymatuning Valley) scored on a designed quarterback draw from 12 yards out. Senior linebacker Ethan Ludwig (East Liverpool) led Thiel’s defense with 12 total tackles, two of which were for a loss.

Travis Bosanac kicked a 49-yard field goal to open the scoring in Capital’s favor. The Blue Streaks answered with a touchdown late in the first quarter and scored 37 unanswered points, taking a 24-3 lead into the half after outgaining Capital 315-94 in the first 30 minutes of action. John Carroll attempted 42 of its 56 passes in the first half and threw for 315 yards.

No. 1 ranked Mount Union returned a punt and a kickoff for a touchdown, gained nearly 500 yards of offense and the defense posted its third straight shutout. The Purple Raiders (4-0, 2-0 OAC) won their 67th straight regular season game and have outscored their opposition this season 208-7. Mount Union senior Blair Skilliter started the game at corner back, ran for two touchdowns off the bench as a running back and returned the second half kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown. Fellow senior T.J. Lattimore also ran for two touchdowns as he rushed for a game-high 79 yards on 13 carries.
Ashland 61, Lake Erie 21

Taylor Housewright threw for 305 yards, completing 19 of 30 passes. He hit eight different receivers. Anthony Capasso caught six passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns. Eric Thompkins caught four passes for 78 yards and Dan Piko caught three passes for 57 yards. Housewright also ran for 68 yards on five carries. Jordan McCune led Ashland’s ground attack with 102 yards on 10 carries. Anthony Bilal had 103 rushing yards for Lake Eries. Patrick Nicely completed 19 of 28 passes for 28 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions.

Senior quarterback Aaron Kingcade accounted for five touchdowns and the Cardinals upset No. 9 Baldwin Wallace. Otterbein remains unbeaten at 4-0, 3-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference and starts the season with four straight wins for only the fifth time since 1950. With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 2-1 in the OAC, 3-1 overall. BW entered the week ranked ninth by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and 15th by D3football.com. The Otterbein running game, which entered the game averaging just 105 yards per game, pounded out 194 yards on the ground. Senior Brock Burzanko led the Cardinal rushing attack with a career-high 74 yards on 19 carries while Kingcade added 41 yards and three rushing touchdowns on 13 carries. Kingcade also threw for 289 yards.

After scoring a touchdown with 54 seconds to play, the Bethany College football team had a two-point conversion attempt to tie the game, but it was broken up by Washington & Jefferson. Justin Evans (Niles) kicked field goals of 29 and 39 yards for Bethany. Chris Collins (Ursuline) caught three passes for 50 yards for the winless Bison
