HUBBARD

Police said a suspect who they believe burglarized a township home in July is the same person arrested by Girard police after a car chase last week.

Township police said Anthony P. Cox, 26, of Warren, admitted burglarizing a home along West Liberty Street in the township July 20. According to police reports, Cox took more than $9,300 in items from the home, including a shotgun, a plasma cutter and a flat- screen TV.

Cox was arrested in Girard on Sept. 20 after a homeowner returned to find him inside his house along the 400 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road. Upon fleeing the scene in his SUV, Cox crashed into a utility pole. He abandoned his vehicle, but was apprehended shortly thereafter.

Cox is facing two counts of burglary and one count of resisting arrest. He is in Trumbull County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
