ALLIANCES

Ohio Cultural Alliance will have a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church Hall, 54 Laird Ave. Ann Milkovich will discuss the topic “Old World Traditions Lost and Retained: Serbia.” Serbian Ladies Guild will prepare the meal, and Talija, an international dance group from Serbia, will provide cultural enrichment. Membership in the alliance runs from September 2012 to June 2013 and cost $25 per person. In addition, the cost of each meeting is $15 for paid-up members and $20 for nonmembers. ASSOCIATIONS

American Association of University Women, Youngstown Branch, will meet at 10 a.m. Oct. 6 in the gathering room at Park Vista, 1216 Fifth Ave. After the continental breakfast and business meeting, members of the League of Women Voters will present the program, “Know the Issues.” Dr. Barbara Brothers will be hostess. Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 9 at Rachel’s Restaurant on Westchester Drive in Austintown. Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group, which provides information and encouragement to individuals who have or will have ostomies, sponsored by Humility of Mary Health Partners, will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 9 in the Cedar Room at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center. Dr. Gregory S. Huang, a trauma surgeon at St. Elizabeth Health Center, will be the featured speaker. The meeting is free and open to ostomy patients, families and friends.
