Pa. college student charged in crash that killed 1

OXFORD, Pa. (AP) — A Lincoln University student is charged with drunken driving, vehicular homicide and related counts stemming from a fiery crash near the southeastern Pennsylvania campus that killed one friend and seriously injured another.

The Chester County District Attorney’s Office said today that 22-year-old Phillip Tomsic had been drinking when he borrowed a car last November and drove two friends, Anthony Washington and Kadeem Fulmore, to get a bite to eat.

Prosecutors said Tomsic was traveling more than 80 miles an hour and struck a tree.

Washington was killed instantly and Fulmore was pinned inside the burning car.

Fulmore lost his right foot and his left leg below the knee, and he suffered a traumatic brain injury, two collapsed lungs and has severe burns over half of his body. He remains hospitalized.
