Trumbull sheriff’s office gives records to ethics panel
Staff report
WARREN
The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office has turned over a personnel file and overtime records for one of its employees to the Ohio Ethics Commission.
Sheriff Thomas Altiere said Tuesday that his department has provided those records, but he declined to name the employee involved.
Altiere said he did not report any issues regarding the employee to the ethics commission and doesn’t know how the matter came to the commission’s attention.
When asked whether he knew the reason for the investigation, Altiere said, “I think they are just looking at overtime right now.”
Julie Korte, chief investigator for the Ohio Ethics Commission, said Tuesday she “can’t comment on an ongoing investigation.”
