Tip toe to ballet’s birthday bash

Youngstown

Ballet Western Reserve is celebrating 50 years with a golden birthday bash planned for 7 p.m. Oct. 20 in Stambaugh Auditorium.

The public is invited to celebrate with BWR supporters, students, families and friends — past and present – and remember the nonprofit organization’s accomplishments. Since 1962, BWR has seen 10,000 young dancers grace classrooms and stages. The school has produced hundreds of professional dancers who have achieved success in greater venues. It was the first arts organization to collaborate with other arts organizations in the Valley. BWR emphasizes education, not competition.

BWR is directed by Virginia Hartman.

The event will feature small plate by Kravitz Deli, cocktails, music, memories, auctions and dancing. The cost is $50 per person.

For information, call Hartman at 330-744-1934 or Susan DeLeo, event chairperson, at 330-540-5721.
