Man, woman accused of heroin trafficking

A township man and a city woman accused of heroin trafficking are expected to appear today in Mahoning County Area Court.

Kevin Washington, 25, of Wolosyn Circle, and his girlfriend, Catherine Dawson, 18, of Compton Lane, are each charged with drug trafficking. Washington also is charged with having weapons under disability.

Boardman police raided Washington’s Wolosyn Circle apartment Friday morning and recovered 26 grams of heroin, more than $2,000, a handgun and syringes, scales and other drug paraphernalia, according to reports.

Washington and Dawson were both at the apartment during the search, police said.

In 2007, Washington was charged with having weapons under disability, and the year before, he faced a charge of felony drug possession, according to online court records.

Police seized and are asking for forfeiture on two vehicles and $2,156, reports stated.
