Highway patrol confiscates $5,000 worth of liquid Codeine

FINDLAY – An Ohio man and woman are facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized seven bottles of liquid Codeine, worth an estimated $5,000, following a traffic stop in Hancock County.

Troopers stopped a 2012 Mitsubishi Galant, with Ohio registration, for following too close and marked lanes violations on Interstate 75 near milepost 157 in Hancock County, at approximately 12:34 a.m. on Saturday. Upon speaking with the driver, the odor of raw marijuana was detected coming from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed approximately 2,330 milliliters of liquid Codeine and a small amount of marijuana located in the passenger compartment.

The driver, Kenisha L. Williams, 20, and passenger, Je’Ronn Hill, 21, both of Columbus, were charged with aggravated possession of a Schedule III substance, a fourth-degree felony.

Both suspects were incarcerated in the Hancock County Justice Center. If convicted, they could face up to 18 months in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.
