Beeghlys to be honored by McGuffey society

YOUNGSTOWN

Bruce and Nancy Beeghly, Valley philanthropists, will be honored during the Founders Day and Pioneer Award ceremonies at 2 p.m. Friday during an assembly and storytelling program at William Holmes McGuffey Elementary School, 310 S. Schenley Ave. The William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society, which named and sponsors the school in honor of “America’s schoolmaster,” is the sponsor.

The award is given to individuals for contributions in the fields of education, literacy, culture and historic preservation.
