Trumbull soil district election set for Oct. 12

The Trumbull Soil & Water Conservation District special election of two supervisors and annual meeting will be at the Trumbull County Agriculture & Family Education Center, 520 W. Main St., at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 12.

Voting takes place from 7:30 until 9:30 a.m., followed by the award ceremony for individuals, farmers and businesses for their conservation activities.

County residents and landowners who are at least 18 may vote in this election. Absentee voting can be done at the Trumbull SWCD office from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or through the mail by requesting forms by Oct. 5.

Three candidates running for the two, three-year terms are: Nick Bellas of Warren, Richard Houk of Newton Falls and Peter Kepner of Hartford.

The SWCD provides leadership in promotion, enhancement and protection of natural resources.
