St. Michael Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. in the parish hall with Kaye Smith, president, presiding. Claudia DiRienzo will be the auctioneer for a white elephant auction. Members should bring auction items. Hostesses are Marilyn Beeman and Nancy Price.

Men’s Garden Club of Youngstown, Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., with Mill Creek MetroParks is co-sponsoring garden author Felder Rushing’s lecture “Grow Anything in Anything” at 7 p.m. Registration begins at 6:30 pm. Master gardener Dianna Mullins of the Garden Club of Ohio will speak on planting fall bulbs for spring blooms during a presentation at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 1 in the Quaker Room of Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., Salem. The free program is open to the public. Registration is requested by calling 330-332-0042, ext. 2, or stopping at the adult circulation department.
