Prizes, giveaways at spay/neuter clinic Sunday

GIRARD

The Steel Valley Spay Neuter Clinic, 405 S. State St. (U.S. Route 422), is celebrating its fifth anniversary with an open house Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

Since it opened, with a mission of providing low-cost spay/neuter and wellness services for pet owners, the clinic has fixed more than 15,000 dogs and cats.

Steel Valley Spay Neuter Clinic is locally owned and operated by Dr. Suzanne Wilcox.

During the open house, visitors are invited to tour the facility and meet the staff and Magoo, the resident cat.

There will be door prizes, giveaways and refreshments.

During September, the clinic will donate $5 for every spay and neuter procedure done, to be divided between the clinic’s top five animal rescue and shelter facilities.
