North Elementary School students, parents and faculty members showed off their Bulldog spirit during the school’s tailgate party Sept. 14.

“It’s the first event of the year and the teachers come and visit and the kids get excited to see them outside of class. It’s a great expedience to see the children excited about their school. It’s a great way to meet parents and help with the PTO,” said PTO volunteer Jen Szolek.

Some students wore blue and white running suits covered with paw print face paintings. Although the event was full of fun activities, it also served as a fundraiser for the school’s PTO, who auctioned off items and held a 50/50 raffle. Money raised will go to support educational programs throughout the school year, according to Principal Tracy Kaschak.

“The funds stay with the PTO and are used to provide mother and father dances and cultural arts programs. It’s just a wonderful experience. It’s a time to see students spending time with their parents,” Kaschak said.
