Fall Market on the Green benefits charities

With the ideal fall weather working in their favor, the Junior Women’s League of Canfield sponsored its 43rd annual Fall Market on the Green on Sept. 15 with 135 vendors offering a variety of items for sale, including crafts, antiques, fine arts, food, jewelry, clothing, baked goods and collectibles.
The event has been quite successful, attracting both new patrons and vendors.
“Our vendor numbers have been increasing each year,” said Cari Gulas, Fall Market on the Green chairperson.
The Junior Women’s League of Canfield also offered a children’s area with pumpkin decorating for children of all ages. Volunteers from the Junior Women’s League of Canfield Juniorettes and the Boardman/Poland Juniorettes, the next generation of the Junior Women’s League, helped more than 75 children decorate pumpkins with paint, glitter, stencils and foam pieces.
The Junior Women’s League of Canfield is a service organization which holds monthly meetings. They participate in yearly special projects, such as the Fall Market, a Wine and Cheese Taste, Fourth of July, First Night Canfield, Juniorettes and Relay for Life.
The Fall Market on the Green is the main fundraiser of the year for the organization. The organization also offered a 50/50 raffle, which will benefit the Jarvis family, and sold Junior Women’s League cookbooks.
Proceeds from the Fall Market are donated to charities and also fund three scholarships given to high school seniors each spring.
