Police have not made any arrests and have not released the names of the victims in a double murder overnight on the city’s East Side.

A car containing a man and a woman was traveling in the area of Benford on the far East Side near the county line when the car was hit by gunfire. Both the man and woman were killed.

The car ultimately came to rest in the yard of a nearby home.
