NEW MIDDLETOWN
Yellow Brick Place, a newly formed nonprofit organization, is a group of volunteers dedicated to helping people with cancer.
Donna Detwiler, a former oncology nurse and cancer survivor, is a co-founder. She said the group plans to provide free, supplemental, non-medical support to people with the disease.
The organization will sponsor a fashion show from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul the Apostle Church social hall, 10143 Main St.
Tickets are nearly sold out.
Antone’s Banquet Center will cater and is a sponsor.
Other sponsors are The Children’s Loft and Talbots. Something New Florist is contributing centerpieces.
Other contributors can still provide raffle baskets or donated items.
Yellow Brick Place is seeking a location to serve the tri-county area; its goal is to open in 2014.
For information visit www.yellowbrickplace.org or call Detwiler at 330-770-0808.
