Bikeway to be closed
CANFIELD
The MetroParks Bikeway Spur Trail (trailhead) at the Mill Creek MetroParks Farm on state Route 46 will be closed between Monday and Thursday in conjunction with the stream and wetland restoration project that is under way.
The bikeway will remain open during this time but will not be accessible from the MetroParks Farm parking lot. For information or questions, call the park at 330-702-3000.
Recognition banquet
POLAND
The Poland Schools Foundation for Education Excellence will have its 20th annual recognition banquet Oct. 16 at the Lake Club.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Several Poland educators and alumni will be honored. Tickets are $40 and are on sale through Oct. 1.

Elected to fair board
WARREN
Five people were elected to three-year terms on the Trumbull County Fair Board last week. They are: Tom Sawyer, Bristolville; Jan Solomon, Lordstown; Mel Liddle, Cortland; Dick Turner, Fowler; and Don Nelson, Southington. The reorganization meeting will be 10 a.m. Sept. 29 at the fairgrounds office.

West Federal Street between Hazel and Phelps streets will be closed from 4 a.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday for an Arab- American community culinary event downtown.

The South West Neighborhood Association and Tod’s Crossing will have a combined community meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Tod’s Crossing Senior Apartments, 1330 Blakely Circle SW. It is open to Warren residents.
