Akron Children's radiothon begins this morning

Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley’s fourth annual “Miracles and Promises” Radiothon began today and runs through Friday .

The radiothon, which features stories about local patients who have received services from the hospital and spotlights hospital services and programs, is broadcast live on Mix 98.9 and 570 WKBN from the main lobby of Building D on the Beeghly Campus, 6505 Market St., from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

All money raised during the event stays in the Mahoning Valley to benefit local children and families. Donors can call 1-888-746-9890 at any time during the radiothon to make a pledge, or donate online at www.akronchildrens.org/mv.

In the first three years, the radiothon raised nearly $400,000, said JoAnn Stock, Akron Children’s director of development.
