Children’s hospital fundraising radiothon starts Wednesday

BOARDMAN

Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley’s fourth annual “Miracles and Promises” Radiothon began Wednesday and runs through Friday.

The radiothon, which features stories about local patients who have received services from Akron Children’s Hospital and spotlights hospital services and programs, is broadcast live on Mix 98.9 and 570 WKBN from the main lobby of Building D on the Beeghly Campus, 6505 Market St., from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

All money raised during the radiothon stays in the Mahoning Valley to benefit local children and families. Donors can call 1-888-746-9890 at anytime during the radiothon to make a pledge, or they can donate online at www.akronchildrens.org/mv.

It is Akron Children’s promise that no child is turned away for any reason, including their family’s inability to pay. Through the support of the “Miracles and Promises” Radiothon, donors can help to provide quality care to children and families in the Mahoning Valley. In the first three years, the Radiothon raised nearly $400,000, said JoAnn Stock, Akron Children’s Director of Development.
