Dinner party celebrates 50th for Petruses

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Petrus of Phoenix, formerly of Campbell for 25 years, celebrated their 50th anniversary at a dinner party Saturday at The Point Hilton in Phoenix.

The former Elizabeth J. Carabbia married Mr. Petrus on Sept. 15, 1962, at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Youngstown.

Mrs. Petrus retired as a licensed practical nurse in 2002 from Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. She also worked at Tod Babies and Children’s Hospital in Youngstown. She was a member of St. Michael Altar and Rosary Society.

Mr. Petrus retired in 1999 as a maintenance engineer for Cambridge Health Care of Plano, Texas, based in Phoenix. He also worked at McKenzie Muffler Manufacturing and was a pitcher for Local 2357 Softball Team. He was a member of PaloVerde Golf Club and was an Army veteran.

The couple are members of St. Thomas Byzantine Catholic Church in Gilbert, Ariz. They attended St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, both in Youngstown.
