Hiram at Kenyon

Kickoff: 1 p.m. at McBride Field, Gambier.

Records: Hiram (0-2), Kenyon (1-1)

The teams: Hiram looks to score its first win and first points. The Terriers have been shut out in their previous two games. With its 31-14 win over Earlham last week, Kenyon snapped a 24-game losing streak. Hiram ended with 208 total yards of offense (84 rushing and 124 passing). Senior quarterback Brendon Rehor (completed 18-of-26 passes for 124 yards. Senior running back Chris Austin carried the ball 20 times for a game-high 59 yards.

Malone University at Hillsdale

Kickoff: 7 p.m. at Frank Waters Field, Hillsdale Mich.

Records: Malone (0-1), Hillsdale (1-1)

The teams: Slot Back/WR Justin McLean picked up right where he left off in 2011, catching five balls for 72 yards and a touchdown in the season opener. He also rushed for 34 yards on five carries to eclipse 100 total yards of offense. The Chargers’ 2011 GLIAC Regular-Season Championship marked the program’s first outright conference title in 23 years. Hillsdale began 2012 ranked at No. 17 in the AFCA Division II Preseason Poll, but then fell to No. 25 after a narrow 30-22 season-opening loss at No. 11 California (PA) University.

Walsh vs. Michigan Tech

Kickoff: 12 p.m. at Fawcett Stadium, Canton

Records: Walsh (1-1), Michigan Tech (1-0)

The teams: In last week’s 28-16 loss, the Cavaliers outgained Northwood with 283 total yards. Anthony Shrock finished with five receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown to lead all receives. George Walker led the Cavs in rushing with eight carries for 66 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Fehrenbach paced the defense with eight total tackles including two tackles for loss and a quarterback sack. After holding Tiffin to just seven rushing yards in a 51-15 win over the Dragons last Saturday (Sept. 8), Michigan Tech ranks second in NCAA Division II in rushing defense.

Grove City at

Washington & Jefferson

Kickoff: 7 p.m. at Cameron Satdium, Washington, Pa.

Records: Grove City (1-1), Washington & Jefferson (1-1)

The teams: Grove City WR Alex Baroffio is off to a fast start to his junior season with 24 catches through two games. His 12.0 reception per game average leads all NCAA Division III wide receivers. Last week, the Wolverines breezed to a 47-10 win over Anderson behind 153 rushing yards and three touchdowns by senior tailback and PAC Player of the Week Shane Kaclik. Grove City racked up 32 first downs and 451 yards of total offense.

Westminster at Thomas Moore

Kickoff: 1:30 p.m. at Bank of Kentucky Field, Crestview Hills, Ky.

Records: Westminster (1-0), Thomas More (0-1)

The teams: The Titans average 337.0 yards of total offense (158.0 ypg rush/179.0 ypg pass) while holding their opposition to 182.0 yards per game offensively (12.0 ypg rush/170.0 ypg pass). They’ve yet to allow a point. The Saints’ defense is led by linebackers Nick Pennekamp (13 tackles/1 fr) and Elijah Anglim(9 tackles), defensive backs Alex Taylor (12 tackles/1 ff/1 fr) and Zach Autenreib (7 tackles/1 ff) and defensive linemen Erick Butler (8 tackles).

Mount Union vs. Muskingum

Kickoff: 7 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium, Alliance

Records: Mt. Union (1-0), Muskingum (0-1)

The teams: The No. 2 ranked Purple Raiders won their 25th consecutive season opener with a 45-7 win at No. 13 ranked Franklin on September 1. Senior wide receiver Chris Denton returned two punts for touchdowns and had a game-high seven catches for 89 yards while senior running back T.J. Lattimore rushed for two scores on 74 yards rushing. This is the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
