Fitch girls golf ready for success

The Austintown girls golf team is full of returning members for their promising 2012 season. Amanda and Jaclunn Choma, Kelly Vesey, Emily Wyant, Rachel Williamson, Jamie Rasor, and Chelsea Raymer will all pull together and lead their team toward a hopefully successful season.

With Janell Verdream moving on to college at the Ohio State University and Caitlyn Cominsky off to Westminister College, newcomers Jessica Halas, Alexis Saunders, Katlyn School, and Brittany Dusieth will have a lot to work toward.

This season’s team looks to be very competitive, according to head coach Lennie Gessler. There is going to be a great mix of veteran players with youth and matched with a team determination to find success. The team will soon face Niles, Howland, Poland and Canfield, and they will need to bring their best game to the course.

Of the team, Coach Gessler says, “I have the best group of kids. They are coachable, respectful, grounded, and have a great support system in their parents. I am proud to be in their lives, if only for a short time.”
