Children’s golf clinic
Diamondback Golf Course is offering golf clinics and an afterschool league for kids in grades first through eighth. Clinic dates and times are Sunday at 4 p.m., Monday at 4:15 p.m., Sept. 23 at 1 p.m., and Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. On Sept. 30, there will be a parent/child nine-hole golf scramble at 3 p.m. Boys and girls of all skill levels are welcome.
Canfield boys soccer defeated Poland
The Canfield varsity boys soccer team recently beat rival Poland 4-1. Senior Dylan Seybert was credited with all four goals, with an assist going to Michael Piersante. Canfield goalie Andrik Massaro had four saves and the Cardinals took 19 shots on goal.
The junior varsity match was won by Canfield, 1-0.
MetroParks to host girls volleyball clinic
Mill Creek MetroParks will be hosting a girls volleyball clinic for ages 11-14 on Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., instructed by Walsh University’s all-conference former volleyball player, Natalie Borland. There will be one-on-one instruction on perfect serving, passing, hitting, blocking skills, and more. Bring water and a packed lunch. The fee is $15 for Mahoning County residents and $18 for non-residents.
The clinic will be located at the new sand volleyball courts at Wick Recreation Area, 1861 McCollum Road, Youngstown. Call 330-740-7106 to register.
Senior women’s bowling league
A senior ladies bowling league will be meeting at Amron Laes in Canfield. The league meets every Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Teams of four are welcomed, but singles can easily be placed on a team. For more information, contact Norma or Jimmy at Amron Lanes at 330-533-3339.
Softball Fall Classic to be held in September

Youngstown Orthopaedic Saturday sports clinic
Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates’ Saturday sports clinics, geared specifically to fall sports student-athletes in need of immediate attention to sports injuries, has started. The clinics run from 9-11 a.m. every Saturday throughout the high school sports season.
These clinics are open to players involved in football, volleyball, soccer, golf and other high school and college sports. They are held at the practice’s Building A at the northwest corner of Tippecanoe Road and Boardman-Canfield Road in Canfield. More information is available at www.youngstownortho.com.
