100-pound Colts defeat Howland
The Austintown Colts 100-pound squad improved to 4-0 after defeating the Howland Little Tigers 22-0 last Sunday. The defense shut down the Tigers, while the offense was led by Devon Winford.
Running back Devin Winford scored two touchdowns and Donavan Oliver, who had an outstanding game, also scored for the Colts.
Colts 120s still undefeated
The Austintown Colts 120-pounders remain undefeated after beating the Howland Little Tigers 34-6. Brothers Maleek and Machai Cheatham led the way with more than 130 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Colts.
Brian Ferguson and Shakir Perkins also had touchdowns, as well as two-point conversions. Other standouts were Collin Roberts and Zachary Richards with more than 50 yards rushing.
ALF 100-pounders fall to 0-4
The Austintown Little Falcons 100-pounders (0-4) lost 32-0 to the Labrae Little Vikings last Saturday at Labrae. Key mistakes, turnovers, injuries and the excellent play by the Vikings all combined to produce the lopsided defeat.
Joseph Serensky, Terrance Pankey, Cameron Smith, Anthony Blott, David Ashburn and Colin Carver all played well in the loss.
Little Falcon 120s fall to LaBrae
The ALF 120-pounders lost 24-6 to LaBrae, giving up 24 first-half points to the Vikings. The defense shut out the Vikings in the second half, but the offense couldn’t take advantage.
Todd Simons scored the Falcons’ only touchdown, while Christopher Scott, Dylan Goddard, Donovan Jones, Alex Miller, Daniel Newman, Myles Pasley and Logan Pugh were cited for strong play.
140-pound Colts double up Howland
The Austintown Colts 140-pound squad, led by quarterback Devin Moore, improved its record to 3-1 after defeating the Howland Little Tigers 28-14 at Fitch Stadium on Sunday.
Running back Noah James piled up 200 yards rushing and scored three touchdowns. Standout Tyrell Oliver also had more than 75 yards rushing and a touchdown. The Colts’ defense had a stellar performance, led by lineman Brock Kimble. Multiple tackles in the backfield were made by Brock Kimble and Anthony Carino.
The 140-pounders remained undefeated (4-0) after a 28-12 victory over the Vikings.
Logan Italiano, Dra Rushton, Willie Beverly and Deondre’ McKeever sparked the high octane offense with touchdown runs, while McKeever and Daniel Ifft tacked on conversion scores. Nathaniel Fowler, Emanuel Dawkins, Andrew Bretsik and Isiah Huertas also starred in the win.
The Falcons will play host to the Mathews Little Mustangs on Sunday, The 100-pound game starts at noon with the others to follow.
