Walk to raise funds for cystic fibrosis is Saturday in Boardman

BOARDMAN — The Northern Ohio Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will have a Great Strides walk Saturday at Boardman Park.

Great Strides is part of a national walk program that generates funds for cystic fibrosis research, education and care. The 2012 goal of Great Strides, the largest CF fundraiser, is to raise nearly $40 million.

More than 200 participants from Mahoning and Trumbull counties are expected to attend Saturday’s walk. Check-in for the walk begins at 9 a.m. at Masters Pavilion in the park and the walk starts at 10 a.m.
