JonesFest returns to the Ledges
Staff report
GARRETTSVILLE
JonesFest, the annual jam-band music festival featuring Jones for Revival, will be Friday and Saturday at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park.
Jones for Revival will perform both nights from 8 to 11 p.m. The band will play Grateful Dead songs Friday, and its own songs — including the debut of two new songs — Saturday.
JFR consists of Jim DeCapua, Dave Lynn, Gino West and Jay Stephens.
Four acts will precede JFR on Saturday: Cosmic Circle, featuring Stephens, 1:30-2:30 p.m.; Dr. Fresh Butter, featuring Lynn, 3-4 p.m.; the Bees Trees, 4:30-5:30 p.m.; and Moser Woods, 6-7 p.m. Lethal FX will perform during JFR’s set break.
Admission is $30 for both days and $20 for Saturday only. Camping and swimming is included in the price. For information, go to jonesforrevival.net. There also will be a 5K run at noon and a hand drum clinic at 1 p.m.
Now in its fifth year, JonesFest is JFR’s most-anticipated performance of the year. But this year’s event also will celebrate the release of the band’s new limited-edition EP, “Golden Sun,” which will be sold exclusively at the fest for $5. The EP is a precursor to JFR’s upcoming full-length album, “YOUniverse,” due later this year.
