Assault charge

Police filed charges against a 52-year-old New Castle, Pa., man accused last month of the sexual assault of a teenage girl.
Todd Alan Vocature, South Jefferson Street, New Castle, is charged with rape, attempted rape, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors, indecent exposure, unlawful restraint and aggravated indecent assault, according to the police department.
Police said Vocature is accused of luring the girl, 15, to his home Aug. 31, saying he needed a baby sitter.
Her hands and mouth were bound with tape, and she was sexually assaulted. She was released and told not to tell anyone.
Police believe Vocature fled the area and is in Ohio. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is requested to contact township police at 724-654-2243.
America in concert at Stambaugh

The Grammy-winning rock group America will come to Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., on Oct. 5 for a 7 p.m. concert.
The band, which formed 40 years ago, consists of founding members Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell. It mixed acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies to create a string of hits, including “A Horse With No Name,” “Sister Golden Hair,” “Tin Man” and “Ventura Highway.”

Drug trafficking
NILES
Two more men were charged with felony heroin trafficking as a result of drug investigations by Niles police. The U.S. Marshals Service assisted.
Andrew M. Colbert, 35, of Edgehill Avenue Southeast, Warren, is charged with heroin trafficking within 1,000 feet of Washington Elementary School on Hartzell Avenue. If convicted, Colbert could get up to 18 months in prison. Colbert appeared Wednesday in Niles Municipal Court and was released after posting $2,500 bond. He was not asked to enter a plea to the felony charge.
Antuan S. Gardner, 25, of Hyde Avenue, Niles, is charged with two counts of heroin trafficking and was released after posting $5,000 bond. If convicted, he faces up to two years in prison.
On Monday, police charged Stephen M. Fauvie, 51, of Ann Street, Niles, with three counts of felony heroin trafficking after police arrested him at his home.

The Boardman Performing Arts Center, a state-of-the-art facility showcasing music, arts and culture, was recently presented with a check for $2,000 from the Home Savings Charitable Foundation.
According to BPAC Supervisor Nick Opritza, the funds will be used to help finance the purchase and installation of a new sound system which well help improve the quality of productions.

There will be a free “Drop and Shop” event at the Grey to Green Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Wick Park, 1105 Elm St., where people can drop off gently used household items and pick up something new in exchange.
