Park event to benefit cystic fibrosis causes

The Northern Ohio Chapter of Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will host a Great Strides walk at Boardman Park Saturday as part of a national walk program that generates funds for research, education and care.

The 2012 national goal is $40 million.

More than 200 participants from Mahoning and Trumbull counties are expected to attend the event, beginning at Masters Pavilion with check-in at 9 a.m. The walk begins at 10 a.m.

A post-victory celebration will include lunch and snacks, kid-friendly entertainment, a raffle and live concert by Hey Kid!
