Wrong-way driver on I-76 kills woman

Police in Northeast Ohio say an SUV traveling the wrong way on Interstate 76 slammed into another car, killing the wife of an Akron firefighter.

Akron police say 55-year-old Karon Briggs whose car was hit by the SUV, died on Friday.

Police say four others were injured in the crash Thursday night.

Police tell the Akron Beacon Journal that alcohol was believed to have played a role in the crash.
