Rooms refurbished at Beatitude House
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
Two rooms at the Beatitude House of Youngstown have been remodeled thanks to the efforts of Making Kids Count, a local nonprofit organization.
The effort began recently and was completed Aug. 20. Making Kids Count organizers said the group wanted to provide a comfortable and relaxing space where mothers, children and employees could work and meet.
The carpet in both rooms was replaced with hardwood flooring, the walls were painted, and both rooms were furnished with new tables, chairs, curtains and other accessories.
Also, members of the Beatitude House staff were surprised with a new television for their group room.
The organization plans a similar remodeling project at the Beatitude House in Warren in the fall.
According to its website, Beatitude House offers programs with a focus on betterment of individuals by providing transitional and permanent housing and providing educational opportunities that foster healthy families.
Making Kids Count, established in 2010 and headquartered at 7178 West Blvd., Suite E, Boardman, works to improve the lives of children throughout the Mahoning Valley. The organization’s funding comes exclusively through community donations.
