Girls soccer team stocked with talent

With a large number of returning letterwinners back, the Boardman girls soccer team is aiming for a Federal League title this fall.

Top returnees include seniors Nicole Deley, Corinne DiCesare, SueJude Hamdan, Sara Strawinski, juniors Nikki Hillard, Jenna Kuczek, Lindsey Tokarsky, sophomores Payton Bryant, Alexis Cailor, Breanna Crenshaw, Alison Green, Kristen Huck, Heaton O’Hara, Megan O’Neil and injured junior player Bryana Flak.

Incoming freshmen Taylor Broll, Lexi Caraballo, Sara Downie, Kristen Fernberg, Leanna Laughlin, Anna Saxton, Celeste Snyder and Hailey Snyder will had depth.

Lost to graduation were Courtney Augustine, Hailey Dickey, Sheila Harris, Kayleigh Huck, Amanda Korpi, Brandi Reese, Teryn Ross.

“We have a really great group of girls this year with dedicated seniors who are at the top of their game,” said assistant coach Michelle Peters, who is assisting head coach Fawzi Mujahed. “They are an unselfish group of girls – they play as a team, for the good of the team and they work really hard. We project a great season this year.”
