LIBERTY
The township will host its third annual Celebration in the Park on Saturday.
The event will include a parade, followed by a car show, live music, food, crafts, vendors and children’s entertainment at the township’s administration building on Church Hill-Hubbard Road.
The festivities start at 9 a.m. with the parade stepping off at the old Liberty High School on Shady Road. The route will travel roughly 1.5 miles east to the administration building, said June Smallwood, Celebration in the Park coordinator. She said state Route 304 will be closed for about 45 minutes.
After the parade, entertainment will follow until 5 p.m., weather permitting.
“We want to showcase how beautiful the township is,” she said. “We wanted to do something that involved all facets of the community.”
Windsor House’s Liberty Arms Assisted Living and The Liberty Health Care Center helped sponsor the celebration.
