Goodin faces assault charges in Poland

A 43-year-old township woman is accused of ramming her car twice into another vehicle that contained her ex-husband, a township road department employee.
Patricia Goodin appeared Wednesday in Struthers Municipal Court to face two assault charges, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.
Goodin reportedly tried to hit her former husband, Darren Goodin, whose brother is the township’s police chief, on Friday near her Shawbutte Street home. No serious injuries were reported. The couple filed for divorce last year, according to court records.
2 men to be arraigned
WARREN
Two men charged with pretending to be interested in buying a home on Central Parkway Southwest, assaulting the homeowner and stealing his car have been indicted on charges of aggravated burglary and receiving stolen property.
Ritchie L. Paden, 30, of Deforest Road and Jermaine C. Johnson, 35, of Wick Street Southeast will be arraigned Wednesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
Both men face prison terms of up to 11 years if convicted. The robbery took place July 29. The 63-year-old victim was rendered unconscious when one of the men put him in a choke hold, he told police.

Health fair for kids

The office of Dr. Jason Tripp is sponsoring the free Kids Blast Health and Wellness Fair from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Abundant Life World Outreach Center, 5130 E. State St.
At the event, Dr. Tripp will provide information on environmental awareness and children’s health. He will provide free scoliosis screenings and distribute vital information on disease prevention and specific health issues that affect children.
The event will entertain families with carnival games, balloons, a petting zoo, pony rides, train ride, bouncers and snacks.

Easter Seals event

Easter Seals Disability Services of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties is planning an open house for its newly renovated Skill Development Center at Easter Seals Adult Day Services, 721 Boardman- Poland Road (next to TJMaxx) from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday.
The center serves young adults with autism, according to an Easter Seals press release. The young adults have finished their participation in the secondary education system but need additional training and support before going on to higher education, employment or volunteer opportunities.
“Our renovations to the skill-development center fulfills all the needs to help these individuals with autism learn the skills necessary to be successful and give back to their community,” said Jodi Harmon, Easter Seals and Youngstown Hearing & Speech Center Development and public relations coordinator.
