Fired Craig Beach police chief files lawsuit to get his job back

YOUNGSTOWN— Joseph Borosky has appealed his termination as Craig Beach village police chief in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday, Borosky, of Austintown, demands reinstatement with back pay after village council in this tiny Lake Milton shoreline community fired him in a 4-2 vote Aug. 28.

After council fired Borosky, Village Mayor David Spencer replaced him by elevating Rick Abbott from acting police chief to police chief.

Borosky had become village police chief in November 2011, but Spencer put him on paid administrative leave in June amid an investigation of complaints against him.
