Area band nights scheduled

A list of band nights as submitted to The Vindicator:

Boardman: The Boardman Spartan Marching Band and the Boardman Band and Orchestra Parents Inc. will host Boardman Band Night at 7 p.m. Saturday in Spartan Stadium behind Center Middle School on Market Street. Participating high school bands are Struthers, West Branch, Springfield, Lowellville, Austintown, Canfield, Howland, and closing performance from the host band. Admission is $5 for adults; $3 for students. Senior citizens are admitted free. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Sharon, Pa.: Mercer County Band Night will be at Sharon High School’s Hickory High School Football Field from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 12 . Those attending are asked to bring canned goods and nonperishable foods to the event. Penn State Shenango staff and faculty will be on hand to collect the food, which will be given to the Mercer County Community Food Warehouse. If the band night should be canceled due to weather, the rain date will be Sept. 21.
