Feud leads to serious gunshot wound in Warren

WARREN

A 26-year-old man who splits his time between the Mahoning Valley and Akron is in St. Elizabeth Health Center with serious injuries after being shot multiple times on Burton Street Southeast Sunday night.

Marcel D. Tipton, who gave an address on Magdalyn Drive in Akron but also spends time in Niles and Warren, was shot in the side/abdominal area and once in the arm at 9:30 p.m., police said.

Tipton and another man were fighting in the street in the 1600 block in what police said was an “ongoing feud or disagreement” when gunshots were fired.

Tipton was found a block away from the shooting in the 1700 block and taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital and then transferred to St. Elizabeth Health Center.

His condition was not available Monday morning, but police said the gunshot wound to the abdomen was “serious.”
