The United Steelworkers Union is hosting insurance informational meetings Thursday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave.

Mountain-bike class

The Trumbull County MetroParks will have its first beginners mountain-bike class at the newest Trumbull County MetroPark, the North Road Nature Preserve, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 23. A rain date is 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 30. The class is free.

Preregistration is required by sending an email to rustbeltmtb@gmail.com. Confirmation emails will be sent to the first 25 applicants.

Rust Belt Revival Trail Coalition instructors will give brief talks on rider safety, bike preparedness, trail hazards and basic mountain-bike technique.

Participants must provide their own bike, wear a helmet, sign a waiver and be at least 10 years old, with parents accompanying any rider under 18.

Parking will be on site, at the mowed lot on the corner of Candlelight Drive and Harvard Drive, which is off North Road about a half-mile north of U.S. Route 422.

Cancer survivors

ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital, in collaboration with the American Cancer Society and Trumbull Memorial Health Foundation, will sponsor the 23rd Annual Cancer Survivorship Day from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lincoln School, 2253 Atlantic St. NE.

Survivorship Day provides an opportunity for cancer survivors, family members and friends to celebrate success in the fight against cancer.

The free celebration includes the Lilly art display “Oncology On Canvas,” a presentation by local physician Dr. Lori Hemrock, and a variety of exhibitors. A butterfly release will close the program.

Entertainment will be provided by musician Rosemary Jennings, and refreshments will be available.

Immunizations

Niles

The city’s health department, 34 W. State St., is offering a child-immunization clinic from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

No appointment is necessary, and no one will be refused for inability to pay. Parents must bring their child’s immunization records, and children should be feeling well with no illness, fever or rash that day. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
