v Eddie Money with the Gary Maransky Project, 6 p.m.: Enjoy the last of the hazy, lazy days of summer at the Beach Club at Conneaut Lake.

v Canfield Fair: The annual rite of the end-of-summer continues at the fairgrounds. On stage will be Geo C and Tha Storm at 7 p.m. on the Shooting Star Stage and headliner Blake Shelton with special guest The Lot Trailers perform at 8 at the grandstand.

v Upton House, 2 to 5 p.m.: An open house is planned at the house built by General Simon Perkins — the third oldest surviving house on Mahoning Avenue in Warren — and the temporary center of the National American Woman Suffrage Association in 1903.

v Mad Anthony, Braille and Death by Rodeo, 10 p.m.: Cedar’s Lounge, 23 N. Hazel St., Youngtown, plays host to the bands.

v Hike at Mill Creek MetroParks, 1:30 p.m.: Join Bill Whitehouse on a hike around Lake Glacier and visit that area’s early industry. Meet at Slippery Rock Pavilion. The 3-mile trek has a moderate rating.

YSU wind ensemble

NAXOS International, the world’s largest classical music online distributor, has released its second recording of Youngstown State University Wind Ensemble, “Old Wine In New Bottles,” on its NAXOS Wind Band Classics Series.

The YSU Wind Ensemble is the premiere performing group in the wind band program at the university that encompasses concert bands, chamber groups and marching and pep band organizations. More than 250 students perform annually in one or more of these bands. Comprised of the top wind and percussion students in the Dana School of Music, the Wind Ensemble performs a spectrum of music.

Dr. Stephen L. Gage, conductor of the YSU Wind Ensemble and Dana Chamber Winds, has served as professor of music and director of bands at YSU since 1993.

The recordings were made in the Henry H. Stambaugh Auditorium Theater and are available from ITunes, on-line music distributors and from YSU Bands.

This annual gathering of the clans showcases Scottish traditions such as piping and drumming, tossing the caber, Highland and Scottish country dancing, and fiddling and storytelling.
