Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, closed for holiday; Tuesday, Vets Helping Vets, line dancing and bingo at 10 a.m., bridge at 10:30 and Kitchen Krew at noon; Wednesday, open exercise at 9 a.m., bingo at 10, pizza party ($3) at noon and classic movie, “American President,” at 1 p.m.; Thursday, yoga ($2) and open exercise at 9:30 a.m., bingo at 10, beginner crochet at 11:30, and Bible study, Austintown Senior Players, cards and dogs at noon; and Friday, trip to Hartville and Wii practice at 9 a.m., bingo and discussion group at 10, Wii bowling practice at 11:30 and beginner computer class at noon. Champion S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 4451 Mahoning Ave. NW, has planned a five-year anniversary celebration with an open house luncheon at 11:15 a.m. Sept. 13. The cost is $3. Rhonda Fonce from Champion Historical Society will speak on the history of Champion Sept. 10 following the usual Monday breakfast at 10:30 a.m. Cost is $5 for members, $7 for nonmembers. Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., is offering a Lunch ’n Learn program at 11:30 a.m. Thursday for anyone 55 and older. This month’s topic is “Art’s Walk to DC,” by Art Dunn from Newton Falls in honor of those who perished Sept. 11. A donation is suggested for lunch but not required. Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following: Monday, closed for Labor Day; Tuesday, art class and Alzheimer’s support at 10 a.m., beginner computer class (advance registration required) at 10 and noon, intermediate bridge at 12:30 p.m. and digital class and caregiver support at 2; Wednesday, watercolors at 10 a.m., tap dancing at noon, 500 card club at 1 p.m. and line dancing at 1:30; Thursday, Watch Our Weight and wood carvers at 9 a.m., exercise at noon and Texas Hold’em at 2 p.m.; and Friday, Wii leagues at 10 a.m., end-of-summer picnic on the front lawn from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., board games at noon, movie matinee at 1 p.m. and cornhole at 2.

Warren S.C.O.P.E. Center, 220 W. Market St., is offering an ultra beginner line-dancing class from 2 to 3 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Sept. 17. Gloria Stone is the instructor. Cost is $2 per person per class. All people 60 and older are invited. There also will be a free grandparents’ support group the last Wednesday of each month beginning Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. It will provide the opportunity for grandparents to network with others who have the same responsibilities.
