Scrappers falter in Jamestown


JAMESTOWN, N.Y.

Dorssys Paulino hit his first home run as a Scrappers, a two-run shot in the first inning, but the Mahoning Valley offense couldn’t muster much else in a 10-2 loss to the Jamestown Jammers in a New York-Penn League game on Sunday.

Erik Gonzalez and Logan Vick had the other hits for Mahoning Valley (30-42), which has lost three straight. Joseph Wendle scored the team’s other run.

Jake Sisco (1-6) started and gave up nine runs (five earned) in 31⁄3 innings to get the loss. He surrendered 10 hits and three walks while striking out two.
