Area Masons degrees conferred

Gordon

CLEVELAND

At its annual session Aug. 28 in Cleveland, the Supreme Council of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, conferred the 33rd degree on Ronald E. Gordon of Warren.

This honorary degree is awarded for active service in Masonry, especially the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, and to those Masons who have been outstanding leaders in their communities for serving their fellow man.

Gordon is a past master of Silver Trowell Lodge 776 in Warren, and has served the Grand Lodge of Ohio as district deputy grand master of the 25th Masonic District. He also is a member of the York Rite of Freemasonry in Warren. In the Scottish Rite Valley of Youngstown he has served as sovereign prince of Youngstown Council Princes of Jerusalem and is serving the Valley as chairman of its membership committee and director of the 14th degree.

A graduate of Huntington High School, Huntington, W.Va., he worked for Westinghouse Electric and the Ohio State Highway Patrol. He retired from General Motors as a materials management analyst.

Gordon is married to the former Jeanine L. Emery, is father to Brian K. Gordon and Barbara A. Gordon Corley, and stepfather to Victoria E. and Tyler B. Dunmire.

Molnar

John R. Molnar was elected to receive the 33rd degree to be conferred on him at the annual session next August in Washington, D.C. Also receiving the 33rd degree next August will be Mark E. Munroe, who was unable to attend this year’s session.

Molnar is a past master of Newton Falls Lodge 462 and Wick Lodge 481 in Youngstown. He resides in Cortland and is a retired tool and die maker for the Delphi Corporation. He is married to the former Kathryn J. Hillier.

Munroe

Munroe is a member of Argus Lodge 545 in Canfield. He resides in Boardman and works in television and video production for 1080 Media, an affiliate of Compco Industries. He also serves as Chairman of the Mahoning County Republican Party and is married to the former Mary Ellen Kostyko of Struthers.
