Thursday attendance is up over same day in ’11

Attendance at the Canfield Fair was up again Thursday.

Timm Schreiber, fair board member, said Thursday’s attendance, at 38,813, was up 4,611 from the same day last year.

Schreiber said he expects attendance figures to continue to rise as the weekend progresses. The two-day total for this year is 64,512.

Apple, Android users download mobile app

The Canfield Fair mobile app had nearly 4,000 downloads as of Thursday evening.

George Farris, of Farris Marketing in Boardman, said the app was downloaded by 2,192 Apple users and 1,615 Android users.

The app features things such as an interactive fair map, a car locator and the ability to upload photos to the Canfield Fair website.

Free shuttle services

The Canfield Fair is offering free shuttle services for the duration of the Labor Day weekend.

The shuttles will run from noon to midnight between Canfield High School and the fairgrounds.

“It’s a great way to beat the traffic and arrive at the fair in the best of spirits,” said Fair Manager Bev Fisher.
