Backpacks, supplies to be given to students

Atty. Alan Kretzer is a friend of Kirkmere Elementary School and its students, and he has provided support to the school over the past three years. This year, he plans to present a bookbag filled with a notebook, folder, pencils, pens, crayons and a glue stick to every student on the first day of school, which is Tuesday.

“We are grateful to Attorney Kretzer,” said Principal Donna Cox-Bing, “and his generous donation will give our students a positive start to the new school year.”

Parents invited to kindergarten

Kindergarten teachers at Paul C. Bunn are planning a special day for kindergarten students and their parents.

Parents of kindergarten students are invited to the first day of school with their child.

Teachers will have a brief meeting in the cafeteria, conduct classroom tours and treat guests to a luncheon in the cafeteria.

The abbreviated first day of school starts at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and students will be permitted to go home with their parents at 11 a.m.
