Westminster College considers drilling lease

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (AP) — Westminster College in western Pennsylvania is considering leasing the natural gas drilling rights to 340 acres of school-owned land.

The Beaver County Times reports the college would get $1 million plus royalty payments of 15 to 18 percent.

The college’s board is meeting Saturday to debate the issue, but a school spokesman says it’s not clear whether a decision will be made during that closed session or at a later time.
