POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Oct. 20

Warrant: Police arrested Joseph Williams, 26, of 17511 Laurel Ave., Lake Milton, on an active warrant out of Niles for a probation violation.

Oct. 24

Warrant: Police arrested Justin Graham, 29, of Newell, W.Va., on a warrant for failure to appear in Canfield Mayor’s Court on traffic charges and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Oct. 25

Warrant: Police arrested Shane Kimple, 35, of 3022 Judyth St., Warren, on a warrant out of Trumbull County.

Drug paraphernalia: Police charged Kevin Cornelius, 33, of 168 Rhoda Ave., Youngstown, with possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments, including items for marijuana and heroin after his arrest in the city.

Oct. 28

Drug abuse: Police charged Franklin Herns, 19, of 451 Sunshine Ave., Youngstown, with possession of crack cocaine and marijuana and on a drug-abuse charge after his arrest in the city.

AUSTINTOWN

Oct. 22

Criminal damaging: The building was spray painted and vent covers were damaged at Wee Care Day Care & Learning Centre, 4211 Evelyn Road.

Theft: Police charged Cinda-Jean Cox, 18, of 123 Westminster Ave., Austintown, with shoplifting at DOTS, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Menacing: Threats were reported at a home in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.

Burglary: An iPhone 5 was taken and several household items damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.

Oct. 23

Recovered property: A 1999 Suzuki 600 motorcycle was recovered in the 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive.

Breaking and entering: A front-door window was pushed out but nothing appeared to be missing at The Carpet Shop,195 S. Four Mile Run Road.

Theft: A 47-inch television was taken from a home in the 3000 block of Brandomyne Avenue.

Bad checks: Tuition checks with a stop payment on them were passed at Advance Check Cashing, 3700 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Steel beams were taken from a home in the 3000 block of Connecticut Avenue.

Theft: Shoe polish was stolen at Dollar General, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Oct. 24

Burglary: A window was damaged but nothing was taken at a home in the 2000 block of Amberly Avenue.

Warrant: Police arrested Karen Halliday, 55, of 25 Market St., Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear for an arraignment on a theft charge.

Warrant: Police arrested Eddie Kozol, 45, of 4804 New Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Aggravated menacing: Threats were made to burn down a house and flatten vehicle tires at Rainbow Shops, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal mischief: A stink bomb was thrown into a house in the 3000 block of Nottingham Avenue.

Theft: Three unauthorized charges were made to an account at a home in the 1000 block of Brockton Drive. A daughter is a suspect.

Oct. 25

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to an account at a home in the 100 block of South Beverly Avenue.

Theft: A sub sandwich was stolen at Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A license plate was stolen and then recovered at the Voodoo Lounge, 4740 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Police charged David Buchanan,39, of 5512 Callaway Circle, Youngstown, for the theft of $36.79 in merchandise at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Assault: An assault was reported at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Theft: An iPhone 4S was stolen from Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Oct. 26

Theft: A GPS and emergency kit were taken from a truck parked at a home in the 500 block of Wilcox Road.

Theft: Money and registration were stolen from an auto parked at the Eagles Club, 1655 S. Raccoon Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Abraham Meyers, 32, of 4188 New Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a domestic-violence charge.

Fraud: A credit-card was charged $700 fraudulently at a home in the 2000 block of Redgate Lane.

Criminal trespassing: Police charged Mylindsie Allison, 22, of 436 Wiseman St., Youngstown, with criminal trespassing at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Criminal damaging: A broken cellphone was reported at a home in the 40 block of East Liberty Street.

Theft: Car keys were stolen at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Theft: A phone and debit card were taken at Austintown Fitch High School.

Oct. 27

Criminal damaging: A rear door was damaged, possibly hit by another vehicle at Youngstown Bolt and Supply, 340 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: A wallet and cash were stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 100 block of Edgewater Drive.

Oct. 28

Weapons offense: Police charged Joshua Burgess, 21, of 276 13th St., Niles, with carrying a concealed weapon, a loaded .22-caliber handgun, and for possession of marijuana at Shotz, 3712 Oakwood Ave.

Recovered property: A Chase Slate credit card was recovered at Sheetz, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A total of $29 in fuel was purchased but not paid for at the BP, 3602 Mahoning Ave.
