Man indicted in shooting at tavern in Brookfield

Raymond L. Diefenderfer, 32, of Logan Avenue, Sharon, Pa. has been indicted on charges of felonious assault and illegal possession of firearms in a liquor permit premises following a shooting in a Brookfield tavern.

Police said Diefenderfer shot a man in the leg at 3:07 a.m. Sept. 16 in Club Topsy, 8426 Lorain Street, during an argument over a woman.

Police said Diefenderfer shot Bryan Bacon, 39, of Castle Rock Road, Brookfield, after Bacon made comments about Diefen-derfer’s girlfriend.

Diefenderfer will be arraigned at 11 a.m. Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. If convicted, he could get about 10 years in prison.
