columbiana Participants sought for Christmas parade

COLUMBIANA

The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking participants for its annual Christmas parade, which will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 17.

Plaques will be awarded for best float, best car, best of theme, best marching/ walking unit, best old firetruck, best new firetruck, best of parade and best of animals.

The parade will start at Joshua Dixon School and proceed down Main Street to Union Street.

This year’s theme is “The Joy of Christmas is Shining.”

After the parade, pictures with Santa will be taken at the Main Street Theater.

Other activities include a lunch/bake/craft sale at the First Presbyterian Church, the annual St. Jude Craft Sale, free Christmas movies at the Columbiana Public Library beginning at 1:30 p.m., and more.

The town’s stores will offer special sales and refreshments.

Local entertainers will be performing in the shops.
